Processors (CPU)
• Interprets and carries out the basic instructions that operate a computer.
• Require additional cooling to avoid chip malfunction. e.g: cooling pad, heat sink and liquid cooling technology.
Data representation
- There are three basic types of computer: Analog, digital and hybrid computer
- Most computers use digital representation
- Based on a binary system (use on/off states to represent 2 digits: 0 and 1)
Cloud computing
- Can save costs, storage in comp., accessibility and scability.
Memory
· Have three basic categories of items:
- Apps
- Operating system and other programs
- Data being and resulting info
Adapters
- A device that converts attributes of one electrical device or system to those of an otherwise incompatible device or system.
- Expansion slot is a socket on motherboard to hold adapter card.
Power
